Beer has strong social and flavour appeal at a braai. Lagers, stouts and craft beers can complement the atmosphere of smoke, fire, food and rugby, while familiar brands often serve as a recognisable contribution from guests. Water remains necessary, particularly in the heat, but beer is usually enjoyed for flavour and sociability. Drink responsibly, have water as well and never drive after drinking.
